Solei Beach Club opens at the Kimpton Surfcomber

Solei Beach Club officially opened May 16 at the renovated Kimpton Surfcomber Hotel, 1717 Collins Ave., in Miami Beach's Art Deco District. The oceanfront venue runs about 11,500 square feet and seats up to 75 guests.

Zoom in: Expect Mediterranean-inspired food alongside lounge seating, shaded palapas, cabanas, and pool and beach access, with daily daytime service. Hours are listed as 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., with bar service until 6 p.m.

Quayshawn West arrested after deadly Sandbar shooting

Quayshawn West, 33, was arrested after a fatal shooting tied to a fight inside Sandbar in Miami Beach. The shooting happened Friday near 67th Street and Collins Avenue, where a memorial of flowers, candles, and photographs sat in an alley outside the bar. West was charged with second-degree murder and appeared in bond court Sunday. NBC Miami reported that police used city surveillance cameras to track West after the shooting, matched clothing and sandals seen on video, and later recovered the weapon they believe was used. Miami Beach Police had not publicly identified the victim as of NBC Miami's report.

Segafredo L'Originale closing after 26 years

Segafredo L'Originale on Lincoln Road serves its final meal June 21 after 26 years in Miami Beach. The cafe and cocktail bar at 1040 Lincoln Road was founded in 2000 by Graziano Sbroggio, Mark Soyka, and Luca Voltarel as a European-style day-to-night spot. It is known for Italian coffees, small bites such as bruschetta and paninis, charcuterie platters, espresso martinis, and outdoor lounge seating with music and DJs. The team did not give a closure reason and said it wanted to celebrate the run with the local community.

Genghis Cohen plans a Sunset Harbour outpost

Genghis Cohen, the Los Angeles restaurant known for New York-style Chinese dishes, plans a Miami Beach outpost at 1801 Purdy Ave. in Sunset Harbour, in the former Sardinia space. Marc Rose and Med Abrous of Call Mom hospitality group are bringing the restaurant to Miami Beach, with an opening expected in the fourth quarter of 2026. The menu is expected to include familiar Genghis Cohen dishes such as egg rolls, queen chicken, crab rangoon, and other classics, paired with tiki-inspired cocktails.
